MOAB Utah trip 9-16 March

If anyone will be in the area, shoot me a message. I would love to meet up with more ZKers. There are about 10 rigs going.

2013 Easter Jeep Safari
Saturday, March 23 - Sunday, March 31, 2013
Easter Jeep Safari consists of trail rides, mostly day long trips, departing from Moab Utah throughout the 9 day long event. Full information about the Safari is available in a colorful newspaper. Click here to request paper. The official event is hosted by the Red Rock 4-Wheelers Inc. one of the the local four wheel drive clubs of Moab. Participants provide their own four wheel drive vehicle, take care of their own food and non-alcoholic beverages for the trip. Suggested essentials, beyond plenty of water, include sun protection, and layered clothing in case of changing weather circumstances that are always a possibility during the spring in southeastern Utah.

Hi all,

How crazy of trails are you planning on doing? I'm building a Sami but most likely won't have my lockers in by then. Also worried about breaking something as I will be about 832 miles from my front door in Moab.

Plan on it being cold in Moab that week. Never can tell how the weather will be at that time of year.

If any of you guys need help finding replacement parts when you are down here let me know. We have a local suzuki group of ~94 suzuki guys in utah on facebook and I can post up in the group and we can help you guys find parts to get you back on the trail. You can also check out our local forum rme4x4.com for help with parts, trail info, and more. Not sure if I can make it down there due to work, school, and family stuff but would like to meet if you guys are passing through.

Where are you at? We got into Moab sunday, had vehicle trouble last night. Looking to wheel tomorrow morning, truck parts coming in at 2 pm. Got one rig stranded at halfway in between Monticello and Moab.

Great wheeling with you Joe. I was amazed at all the equipment on your rig.
Hope to catch you later in the week if your tranny gets repaired.

Made it home in one piece with no further problems, putting together an engine for my Isuzu Trooper then I pull the Zuk tranny. Was it Al that had the auto in his Zuk? I am wondering if a high stll torque converter would be worth the money.

I hear that Pritchett Canyon will never be the same after you guys flattened it out.

LOL..... Pritchett Canyon was humbling in a few places. Especially on Al, he took a hard flop on one of the first major obstacles. There was no damage and he was running again in just minutes. His auto kicked arse all week. It is just a factory tranny with no mods.

Im strongly considering the 16V / Auto swap now. It really shined on the steep climbs and ledges.

How much does he use his doubler? I have a klune put up that I could put on, Most everyone I talk to says it is not worth the trouble with an auto. I figured out that my torque converter was locking up that was causing the engine to die whenever I idled it down.
