early season was a wash, it was too dry and fire danger was too high, just waiting for late season

Quit yer bow, gun, close, long BS arguements.

Saw these little ones just about 40 yards off the back side of our shop building at work last week. Not a care in the world.

I actually care far less about the sport aspect of hunting than stocking the freezer with food. I dont suffer from Buck fever, mostly because I have yet to find a recipe to cook and make the antlers edible.....LOL...They just dont tenderize well......LOL

I'm still seeing really small ones in my area. Just 3 weeks ago I saw twins that still had spots. I sure hope that we have a mild winter or they will be coyote food.

We had a very easy winter, spring and summer, this years young are all fully out of spots and doing very well growth wise.

The yotes also faired well and they are pure sport to take! Cant wait to see how the 300AAC performs on them!

5 more days here....

Evidently we've got a Chronic Waste Disease "epidemic" in my zone this year. Supposedly transfer of non sterilized skull or spine outside of zone is prohibited. Sounds like the local taxidermists have got the market cornered this year. Even have check stations to take in a tissue sample for testing.
