Yota or Zuk axles

I know Toyota axles are better all around, but I don't really want to go through all the crap again to swap them out. I have a set of Toyota axles that can be ready to bolt in in about two to three hours, but then I need to by lockers, shorten the drive shafts, buy new brake lines, new wheels....ok you get the picture. So the question is this how strong would chromo axles and updated birfs be? Would they be any where near as strong as stock Toyota axles? I loved the Yota axles in my buggy but don't really want to go crazy with this build. I was thinking of trading my Toyota axles for new chromo axles and heavy duty birfs, do you all think it would be worth it to trade? Thanks for any info or opinions.

I beat the crap outta my dad's rig at the Rubicon last week. He's got DT's in the front and stock rear axles running 80% 35-15.5 TSL SX's. I was trying to be easy on them the first day, then I realized I had replacement parts for everything breakable and made just about everything I pointed at! Had to drop 2nd HARD a couple times, too.

At Gon Zukin 2007 I wheeled with Sean Devinney for a day and he had 36x12.5x15 IROKS with TT chromoly fronts and had no breaks all weekend. And he got them into a bind a couple times in the creek bed, so i would say that chromolys in zuk axles can take a beating.

If my dad had Chromy rear axles and a rear-end set up by a professional, I don't think he could break it.

Shave the sammie axles, put in cromos and run 35s. you will have tons of clearance under them.

If you even have the slightest thought of going with a bigger tire later, go Toyota, don't waste your time and money.

TayJ is an unknown quantity at this point
Just take the time and put in the toyota axles, you will be happy you did later. If you don't the first break you have you will be kicking yourself for not going with the toy axles.
Just my thoughts.

Take the advice and upgrade the sammy axles..
I have 512's,6.5 tcase, chrome moly fronts with a lock rite and h/d rears with a spool.
I have broken both and just broke another front yesterday.
I put quit a bit of cash in these stockers and I am now going to make the upgrade to save my sanity...
BITE THE BULLET YOU'LL BE MUCH HAPPER IN THE LONG RUN..
ANYONE NEED SOME PARTS WILL BE PARTING THEM OUT SOON...

What are you breaking, the gear or the shafts? For the chromoly fronts are they trail toughs?

Trail Tough doesn't make Chromy axles for the rear, and your front should easily unlock and drive down the road.
