Picture Sizing

Many users on this board use dial-up, and nothing is more frustrating than waiting for a large/huge image to load.

Please try to limit your photos to 640by480 or somewhere close to that.

Some of you techies are familier with photo re-sizing.

Small ones like this are perfect:

Big ones like this are not(unless it's in the nws section jk):

If your using Windows XP, There is a program here that works awesome to resize pictures! Scroll down the right side, and look for "Image Resizer". Download it and install. Then it's just right click the picture file, click resize, choose size, done.

Downloaded that once and it didn't work. Downloaded it again just now, and it still doesn't work. No biggie, I have another program -- just takes forever to open..

No worries. I can use the other program it just takes a little longer. If it becomes more of an irritation, I'll try a little harder to de-bug it. I appreciate your help!

google the program "irfanView".. or go to download.com

free and extremely easy to use..

works with all operating systems (xp, vista , 98)

just drag and drop your pic, then click image at the top, then click resize..

easy as that.. i've used it for years with no trouble..

Adobe Photoshop is very good for resizing photos. Just open the pic you want, click on 'image' on the top tool bar, select 'image size', then in the 'Pixel count' box, enter the number of pixels you want it to be and bobs your uncle. Or if you don't like messing with pixels, you can click the drop down box and change it to percentage, and type in the % you want it reduced by. For example, if it says your image is 11.4m, type in 35 and it will reduce it to 1.72m, and when you save it, it will shrink down to approx 200k.
