I can't say my money train has slowed down, if it did it would be completely stopped. Actually, I think my Zuki is faster than my money train. I prefer not to think of myself as being a cheap ass, but I am exceptionally frugal. Gotta have money for my chemistry hobby, converting beer into piss.

Hmmm.. I could be there in a hour.

I have a giant paper weight in the driveway, just got to finish the exhaust, power steering (waiting for fittings from Summit), and shocks.

Then it's off to the smog ref, and I can finally get back out to the trails (been waaaay too long.. almost 5 years now.)

The rolled one was a complete total. Frame, engine and body gone.

Found one locally in really bad shape (wouldn't pass smog), and using pulled parts from the old one started on this one..

Had to get a new 1.6/16v engine for it, got it in and wired and running. but since I seem to have no time it takes FOREVER to get something done.

Yes. I'm working on the exhaust and power steering this week, which should just leave shocks and then off to the ref for the ass reaming, er testing.

Hey guys, I am ready for a run. If you are ready for the Rubicon, I am about 45 minutes away. I have ten treed acres, and you can camp here (tent or RV), totally isolated. A great staging area, if you can drive your rig about 45 minutes to the Rubicon. I am only about three miles off Hwy 50.

tdavis, have you done anything on rear disc brakes? I would enjoy kicking tires with you, and also others.

I'm thinking a trail ride. Personally, I don't have much interest in crawling. Only in short spurts. When I go on the Rubicon, I intend to avoid the crawling stuff as much as I can. From what I understand, most of the real crawling stuff has bypasses. I think maybe just go part or half way. I am open for suggestions.

I went to Spider Lake years ago, with my son and his Jeep. It has fantastic scenery, which is my real interest. I have done Strawberry Trail, and ran a few forest roads. My wheeling in a 4x4 is pretty limited. I've done over 15 years in Sandrails, Dune Buggies, and Bajas. Mostly desert and sand.

Low on the list of things to do. First goal is to get smogged, then get front/rear bumpers & sliders done, then OBA using the Puma 12v pump I have.

Well, later in the year perhaps. What about it jplasse, AfflictedPast, tdavis, you guys interested?

For those that want to, you can tent at my place (10 acres) the night before we go to the Rubicon. It would break up the drive. We could even burn something on my grill. I have a good layout, park like setting for camping and that kind of stuff. You can’t see my neighbors.

We could go up on a Saturday morning, about 45 minutes from me. Go till dark, or we had enough, spend the night on the trail, then head back Sunday.
